The George Hotel

The George Hotel was established in 1699, but there has been an inn on the site for over 600 years. Once the town hall of Battle, the George building was once a military court during the napoleonic wars. All our rooms are en-suite, with television and tea making facilities. Full English breakfast is served freshly cooked between 7-00 and 9-00 am. Continental breakfast can be served in your room by prior arrangement. The Hotel is popular with wedding parties and tours, being within 5 minutes walk of the picturesque battle Abbey. Battle itself provides a great choice of restaurants and shops, while the seaside towns of hastings and Bexhill on Sea are less than 20 minutes drive away. Battle station provides an excellent rail link to London, with direct access from Charing Cross and London Bridge stations.

The Brickwall Hotel

Originally built in 1597 for the local ironmaster, the hotel combines a touch of Tudor times with all the amenities expected by modern standards. Offering a pleasant atmosphere, the Brickwall Hotel has many local beauty spots within easy reach. Guests at the Brickwall can expect to receive a warm welcome from an experienced staff. The hotel has a spacious residents' lounge, an oak panelled lounge bar and beautiful beamed dining room. Particular attention is paid to the quality and variety of food served in the dining room, with local produce being used whenever possible. Complementing the cuisine is a well stocked wine cellar. In an attractive setting in the garden, the heated swimming pool is open from May - September. The Aldershaw golf course is 1/2 mile away, where we have arranged favourable fees for hotel guests. The village of Sedlescombe is a focal point in an area of great beauty and interest. Nearby are the picturesque seaside towns of Rye and Winchelsea, whilst within an easy drive are the holiday centres of Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton. Reminders of the historic significance of the Sussex Weald are close at hand, with such famous landmarks at Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle and Pevensey Castle. WE ONLY ACCEPT A MINIMUM OF A 2 NIGHT STAY OVER THE WEEKEND.
