Brunels Tunnel House Hotel

The fine early Georgian building was built in 1744. It has been featured on television and is situated in the old village of Saltford, minutes away from the beautiful cities of Bath and Bristol with their renowned theatres, resturants, historic buildings, museums and expanding business centres. The hotel is able to offer ample off road parking. The village is situated approximately 4 miles from Bath and 6 miles from Bristol. Within the village itself there are four pubs all of which have resturants and serve meals to suit all tastes. Within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel there is the old Bristol / Bath railway line which has been converted into a cycle track ( cycle hire is available locally). As an alternative take a walk along the banks of the river Avon, perhaps hire a boat from the village marina, or for the energetic a climb up to Kelston Roundhill. On a clear day you can see the two severn bridges and the hills of Wales. With easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways our location makes us the obvious choice for both pleasure and business trips. The surrounding countryside is some of the finest in the West Country, with the Cotswolds, the Mendips, and the Quantocks a short drive away. Within a couple of miles there are two 18 hole golf courses, one with a covered driving range both welcome visitors. If you do not feel like driving there is an excellent bus service which will take you to either of the cities, or for a change visit Cribbs Causeway, Bristols biggest out of town shopping mall. This hotel is a non-smoking establishment.

The House is set in magnificent gardens opening onto the Bristol Downs - an open Park of some 450 acres - truly 'a Countryside location in the Heart of the City'.
