The historic city of Chester is only 13 miles away, and Liverpool 20 minutes by car. The hotel has excellent motorway links and is just 5 minutes away from junction 4 of the M53. Thornton Hall Classic Hotel was originally a 19th century mansion, home of a shipping magnate. The elegant building has been stylishly extended but still retains some striking original features such as oak carvings and ornate ceilings. The hotel is situated in an unspoilt hamlet in the heart of the beautiful Wirral countryside. The hotel is delightfully situated on a tranquil and attractive waterfront, adjacent to the award winning National Boat Museum, with immediate access to both historic Chester or across the River Mersey to Liverpool. Standing in 7 acres of gardens and grounds with private lake in the most desirable part of the Cheshire Countryside, but only 10 minutes from Manchester Airport with easy access to the major motorway networks. The Original house offers individually designed and furnished executive bedrooms, Four Poster suites one with double Jacuzzi spa bath, and one with a Victorian claw bath with wonderful views across the lake or gardens. The Lakeside Rooms all have King size beds; Jacuzzi spa baths, and are furnished to the same standard as the Original house.

The hotel sits high above the estate on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and has exceptional views. It is almost impossible to imagine that this peaceful hotel is within easy access of major cities such as Manchester and Sheffield, and the M1 and M62 motorways.
