We are in the heart of the glorious Isle of Wight's capital town of Newport, with all its facilities to hand. There are 12 warm and comfortable rooms, mostly ensuite, with ground floor and non-smoking rooms on offer. Four Poster and family rooms are available and also singles, doubles and triples. All have colour television, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, direct dial telephones, radio alarm clocks and complimentary Isle of Wight Still Water. Ironing board and hairdryers are also available. As well as our comfortable accommodation, you can relax in our restful lounge, with its original Victorian wood panelled walls, exposed beams and its impressive fireplace. A substantial English Breakfast using fresh Isle of Wight produce is cooked to order, and served in our spacious dining room with its beautiful Italian marble fireplace. The Dorset hotel has a number of comfortable bedrooms to offer, for the single traveller to the family on holiday, most rooms are en-suite with colour television and hospitality tray some with sea views across the Solent. The hotel has a residential licence to help you wind down in the evening. A fine breakfast is served in the attractively appointed dining room to help start the day. The Dorset has an outdoor heated swimming pool in operation from May to September. Ryde offers a range of Restaurants, Public Houses and Night Clubs and other entertainments suitable for the young and old. We welcome children over the age of three we can not cater for children under this age. The minimum age for children occupying single rooms is 14. Large FREE car park at the rear of the hotel and parking for four cars on the front of the hotel.

As a guide price, the delegate 24 hour rates is 100 for bed & breakfast, buffet lunch, dinner, coffee and conference facilities. As these requirements conflict with individual guest needs, the whole of the hotel is devoted to a conference when booked. The restaurant has 50 covers and is pleased to cater for the needs of organisations, business parties and private groups for dinners or functions. Kevin Mangeolles joined the George Hotel in September 1996 and the restaurant was awarded 3 Rosettes by the AA in that year and each year subsequently. He specialises in modern British cooking with French Influences and regularly visits France, California and other parts of the world for inspiration. Menus change frequently with the seasons, and where possible organic and local produce is used. The brasserie offers an alternative to the hotel restaurant, with its garden overlooking the sea. A very relaxed atmosphere, again the creations of Kevin Mangeolles in a simpler format, using where possible organic and local produce. Menus are seasonal, and the food, is contemporary brasserie style with a European influence. Fish features regularly on the menu. Relax in the restful surroundings of this wood panelled room, by the roaring log fire, and let the stress of every day life disappear, and enjoy afternoon tea or cocktails before dinner.
