The Hotel is Victorian and was originally a Manor House which was converted around 30 years ago. We have also recently completed our own conversion by adding a large, elegant, Victorian style Conservatory. We have a Restaurant, a comfortable Bar and Lounge area, Breakfast room, Meeting room and traditional English Country Garden. For the business traveller we offer meeting room facilities, and can provide buffet lunches and bar-snacks as required. We also host company events - situated just 10 minutes from the Newmarket Race Courses, we offer the perfect solution to your accommodation and restaurant needs. Race days are very busy so please book in advance. With its traditional architecture The Rosery is the ideal place for your Wedding Reception. The Georgian hunting lodge which sets the style for the complex was built for the Duke of Bedford in the late 18th century and converted for use as a hotel after the Second World War. Recent developments, in keeping with the existing style, have made the hotel one of the best-appointed in East Anglia with superb leisure facilities including a large indoor swimming pool and beauty treatments, conference and banqueting facilities and much more. Pervading the entire complex is a feeling of informality and warmth. Our newly refurbished and relocated restaurant is one of the regions finest, where you will find the atmosphere relaxing and the service impeccable. Throughout the Bedford Lodge you will find references to Newmarket's unique racing heritage; a picture of Roxana, the most famous mare in 18th century England hangs in the hotel. The 'Sport of Kings' theme is carried through to the hotel's fifty-six luxurious bedrooms, all of which are named after racecourses across Britain. Seven of these rooms provide a lounge area in addition to the standard en-suite facilities.

Newmarket is famous for its horse racing course the Rowley Mile with its recently developed stand and the July Courses. Newmarket is also known as the centre of British Horseracing. The Hotel is situated adjacent to the farmed Heath where some of the towns 3000 Racehorses can be seen training every morning.
