Located adjacent to the Meare and gardens this hotel offers 30 large, well-decorated en-suite bedrooms, ideal for couples or parties planning a short break or longer stay. The sun terrace overlooks the lake and gardens, where in Summer the hotel has rowing boats for hire. The ideal location to discover the Suffolk coast, excellent coastal walks, birds and wildlife,cycling,riding, or just relax on the beach. Our own 18 hole golf course is one of the finest in East Anglia often compared to Woodhall Spa, a test for the experienced golfer. The village still has the traditional atmosphere and quirkiness of a by gone age. Built in the early 1900,s as a holiday destination for coloniels and their families home on leave from the British Colonies. You will be ideally situated for exploring nearby towns of Bury St Edmunds, Long Melford, Colchester, Lavenham and Sudbury. Charles Dickens who stayed in the hotel whilst giving readings of his books in the Athenaeum, mentioned the hotel in The Pickwick Papers. We have five chefs preparing fresh food for the Garden Restaurant and the more formal Adam Room. Both restaurants offer superb a la carte lunches and dinners and are complemented by wine from an award winning list. The Lounge Bar opens on to the Terrace and Garden, with fine local beer, spirits and wines. In the summer months you can sit out on the terrace enjoying your drink, overlooking a well maintained garden. If the weather is unsuitable to have a drink outside, the Lounge Bar offers excellent seating in a very comfortable, well decorated and spacious lounge. The Grange has recently obtained a licence to hold civil wedding ceremonies. We can accommodate parties from 4 to 80 for the ceremony, and up to 110 for the reception.

The Six Bells is a perfect country escape set on the edge of the village green, near the duck pond in the pretty Suffolk village of Bardwell. Originating in the late 1500s, the Inn was enlarged in the 19th century and more recently by ourselves. It now offers a characterful blend of old and new. Totally surrounded by countryside, it offers total peace and tranquillity, great food and a country atmosphere. Yet with recent improvements to the A11 and the creation of the A14, it is surprisingly an easy drive from London and the Midlands. The Genevieve. Measuring 6345 yards, this classic parkland course provides a test for golfers of all abilities. The river Lark meanders through the course coming into play along with many water hazards and areas of mature woodland. We welcome Golf Societies, available Monday to Friday. Each of the 16 en-suite bedrooms at the Hotel are individually furnished with some fine antique pieces to complement the historic ambience. New owners of the venue at Brome, near Eye (just off the A140), are Beth and Jeffrey Ward. Superb food is served both in the splendid Tudor Bar and 'The Restaurant'. 'We have put the emphasis very much on extremely high quality food,' says the new chef Kevin Booth. The Marlborough Hotel is located on Felixstowes sea front, 250 yards south of the pier complex. Felixstowe sits at the end of a peninsula between the estuaries of the River Orwell and Deben on the east coast. Served by a good road network, the A12 London Gt Yarmouth road links to the A45 Midlands East Coast road which ends at Felixstowe port. We are approximately 45 minutes from Harwich. The port of Felixstowe is under 10 minutes drive away from the hotel, and the promenade is just across the road for that leisurely stroll! This historical Hotel stands in the main square of the town, adjacent to the town hall. Many of the original materials are burried in the walls and floors, and the layout of the corridors and rooms gives as much to the Hotels' character as its age. The building has long been a resting place, and Hotel folklore tells that Charles Dickens once spent some time in the Hotel. Recent renorvations have seen the opening of MIZU Noodle Bar and The Betty Ford Club. Mizu is a modern oriental restaurant, combining dishes from all over the Far East, with over 80 dishes on the menu. All hotel residents automatically get a 10% discount on meals in Mizu. The Betty Ford Club is open on Friday & Saturday nights to over 21 year olds, and is the newest club in Ipswich. A great venue with a great atmosphere, all hotel residents get VIP admission. A family owned and run 16th century coaching Inn, The Bull is situated in the centre of the town, standing on the site of an ancient inn of the same name. The hotel overlooks the lovely Tudor Shire Hall and Market Hill. The present building dates from the days when it was a posting house for the Union Coaches which ran between Ipswich and Norwich.

With the amount of horse-drawn traffic passing through the town, the hotel became the jewel in the crown of numerous local coaching inns. The 500 year old hotel is close to Woodbridge town square.
