Wye Valley Hotel
Near Chepstow Tintern, Monmouthshire, Wales, NP16 6SQ.
The poet Wordsworth described Wye as Æthe most romantic valley in WalesÆ. Little has changed since he penned those lines and the Wye river still wends its way by Tintern, its abbey and forest. The hotel dates back to 1835 when it was a small alehouse known as ÆThe Carpenters ArmsÆ. In 1909 the building was renamed and extended to its current form. Both the bar and restaurant are open to non-residents and is popular with locals and tourists alike. Using fresh local produce, we aim to provide a range of food to suite your individual tastes - from bar snacks to a la carte meals. Special dietary requirements are catered for on request. With a total of nine en suite rooms, the owners Sue and Barry Cooke, pride themselves on being available to give individual attention to their guests so that their stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as it can possibly be. All rooms are equipped with colour televisions, direct dial telephones, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Laundry service is available on request. There is ample car parking at the front and rear of the hotel. We can also provide secure storage for bicycles. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, and with the exception of the restaurant, are allowed in all areas.
