The Fownes Hotel is only a two minute walk from Worcester city centre, offering quality of service and comfort. Formally a Victorian glove factory, the hotel is situated by Birminghams canal. The hotel has the air of an elegant town house with it's canopied entrance. Nearby there are various places of interest, including Cheltenham Race Course, Civil War Commandery, Worcester Race Course, Worcester Cathedral, and Worcester Cricket ground. The beautiful decor of the King's restaurant provides the perfect atmosphere for the finest classical English cooking. Our daily fixed price menus follow a seasonal theme using the best ingredients and local produce. We have a Conference venue that is perfect for confidential business meetings, private parties or exclusive entertaining. The boardroom, equipped with full conference facilities, is a sumptuously appointed suite with traditional decor, comfortably accommodating up to 22 people. An excellent location for business meetings for up to 50 delegates or functions for up to 110 people.

The Hotel name dates from centuries ago when the oldest part of the building was used as the collecting house for the tithes gathered from one hundered districts in the County. The premises have now grown to a 27 bedrommed hotel offering a high standard of accommodation together with banqueting & conference facilities. Civil wedddings & wedding receptions are a speciality.The restaurant is renowned for offering the best choice of locally farmed produce and is open for lunches seven day a week.

Within easy reach of the many attractions in and around the City of Worcester, namely the Cathedral, Worcester Royal Porcelain factory, the world famous cricket ground or race course - all situated near the banks of the River Severn. The hotel itself offers a free car park. The hotel has been under new management since December 2001, they will be maintaining the present high standards to which hotel operates. Offering the comfort, friendly atmosphere and good food expected, whether you are here on holiday or visiting during the course of business. A Table D'hote menu is offered which varies on a day to day basis. Vegetarian and Special dietary requirements are catered for on request.
